Just what I'm up to and thinking about

Week 3 January 21, 2009

On the Prayer Rota we have had:

41 people, 2 house Groups and 1 Youth Group praying. This covered 6 countries and 6 American states. Just through the prayer rota alone we have prayed for 172 hours!

We have prayed for 6 towns/areas, 12 people plus the church leaders in the area. We’ve covered 5 general issues and 1 people group and the schools in the area and as we have prayed God has revealed many, many more things, which we have lifted to Him in prayer.

On Friday as you prayed for the children here, they prayed for every single one of you, by name. It was such a precious time and the prayers were sincere and truly beautiful. Not only that but we had your names all printed off on separate sheets of paper and said to the children that if they wanted to pray for someone went they go home, for the rest of the month, then to pick up one of the names from the floor and pray for that person. Well they didn’t just pick up one each… they picked up every single one and took them home with them. The kids were amazed when we told them of how there were people all over the world who were praying for them.

Results:

Prayers for Glennis Darby’s son & Lyndsey’s brother have continued to have absolutely incredible positive results.

All of the individuals we have been praying for have had to either reduce or completely review their prayer requests as so many have been answered!

We have received amazing prophecies and words from God; many confirmed by different people in different parts of the world. Many are posted on the discussion board on the group page (Facebook). I wanted to share a couple with you this week:

“When I prayed for Sligo and the surrounding towns had a picture tw weeks ago of there being a spiritual fog that was extremely oppressive. Last week when I prayed I saw the sun starting to shine through the fog.” (I had this same picture in the fisrt week)

In positive prayers we always follow the pattern- pray—thank—–rejoice. The LORD is clearly saying in my prayers it’s the time we start rejoicing in “what is about to be released by HIM for us very soon.” we must sing and praise Him for all we are about to receive. Time for parties ——– all nite praise nites”

“Tonight I can see a rainbow over Sligo and I just know that all this prayer has made a difference in the heavenlies. As I pray for the schools I see a garland of flowers around Mercy infants. But I see what looks like an army of hedgehogs attacking the boundaries of the Carraroe school. Please keep praying for this place consistently over the next few hours and as I pray for Glen I see him surfing on a ray of light. Ursline School could be a place of growth spiritually. I feel a sense of excitment as I pray for it.”

The Methodist opening in Sligo on Sunday was a wonderful event. I’ve not seen so many Christians gathered in one place in this part of Ireland before. The worship was electrifying and the excitement about the potential for renovated building reaching out into Sligo Town was tangible.

The first Encounter meeting after the Christmas break took place last night. Attendance was well up and God met with us powerfully. I shared with everyone on the progress of the Month of Prayer and how faithful you guys have been in your prayer and in your feeding back to us. People were so encouraged!

Since the first week of January I have been wondering what on earth we will do in February and onward!?! Well I believe God will show us but I’d also like to ask you, as our prayer warriors what you would like to happen with regard to praying for Ireland when January ends. I’d be so grateful if you could drop me a quick message if you have any thoughts. We have some ideas, which I wanted to share in next week’s update but I would LOVE to hear your ideas!

Finally, if you know of anyone between the age of 18 and 30, who would like to spend 6 months or a year working with us here in Ireland, let me know and I’ll send out a leaflet. Alternatively take a look at the website www.outletcore.weebly.com

God bless you all this week! We are so proud to be in this thing with you all!

Two weeks in and wow! What a week!

On the Prayer Rota we have had: 39 people, 2 house Groups and 1 Youth Group praying. This covered 6 countries and 6 American states. Just through the prayer rota alone we have prayed for 160 hours! We have prayed for 7 towns/areas, 15 people plus the church leaders in the area. We’ve covered 4 general issues and 3 people groups in the area and as we have prayed God has revealed many, many more things, which we have lifted to Him in prayer.

Results?? Prayers for Glennis Darby’s son & Lyndsey’s brother have continued to have absolutely incredible positive results.

We have received amazing prophecies and words from God; many confirmed by different people in different parts of the world. Many are posted on the discussion board on the group page (Facebook). Particularly, have a look at the ones from Shirley and Anthony (Dated 5th January) under ‘Words We Have Received’ on the discussion board. The reason I single these out is because I want to share with you what happened the next day…

“I get emails from Astronomy Ireland on a regular basis as it is one of my interests. I received an email and was so shocked to see one part that I thought I would share it. ” FIREBALL: Last Friday Jan. 2 at around 5:30pm a fireball brighter than the Full Moon was seen all across Ireland. Fireballs this bright can drop meteorites. If anyone saw it please fill out the online report form at http://www.astronomy.ie/fireball.html. A full report will appear in our magazine in due course.” God is at work!! Stay blessed Anthony”

Well… I nearly fell off my chair when I read what Anthony had sent and the attached article!

Another thing that has brought SUCH encouragement is that these past 2 weeks a number of people have contacted me because they have stumbled upon either the group page on Facebook or my blog, which I have been updating with prayer month news. All of them people who feel they have been called to Ireland!

Last week we were all excited and uplifted by what God was doing through this month of prayer. This last week has been a slog. We as a team and as individuals have been attacked every which way by the enemy. But… Praise the Lord! Last night, the team got together to pray and most, if not ALL of those attacks were broken in the name of Jesus and not only the attacks of this week but ones that have been affecting us over the last few months. I 100% believe that this could not have happened had we not had all of you wonderful people praying for us. Our meeting finished late last night and we were all uplifted.

This morning, I can’t speak for the others, but I feel like something incredible has happened both in my life and also in the spiritual battle over Ireland.

We’d love to hear just how you have found your time slot. Has it dragged? Gone quickly? Did you have enough information to fill your hour? Please feed back everything to us. You can do that by sending Lyndsey a message or posting your feedback on the discussion board (marked ‘Feedback’) If you feel God may have said something, let us know and we’ll put some prayer into it. Also if you KNOW God has said something and you haven’t shared it with us yet, please do!

Next week we are short of people to pray for 13 hours. That’s a massive reduction compared to last week’s 39. Thank you so much if you responded to our request to help fill some of the spaces! If you can take ANY of this week’s on, every hour counts so please get in touch!

One final thing: As I was typing this update I had an email come through from a friend back in England. It was to inform me that our friends Nigel and Elayne Bayley’s son, Joshua has today been diagnosed with Leukaemia. I am shocked and gutted by this news. Nigel is a pastor in England and even though this news is not directly related to the West of Ireland could I ask you please to remember that family in your prayers?

So I sign off this week by saying to you that even though you are not here, you are playing a specific and vital part in the war over the country of Ireland. You are a strategically placed warrior of Almighty God. And guess what warriors… He wins!

God’s richest blessings be upon all of you! Lyndsey

A small personal testimony – I have an ongoing problem with my shoulder. On 1st December I had the nerve blocked and had been pain free since then. On the Sunday before we started this campaign, the pain came back very suddenly and got worse by the day and I began to not be able to sleep because of it. 5 days ago I started getting a sore throat, which has also been getting worse by the day, to the point that I didn’t sleep last night and today I haven’t been able to swallow anything. I went to physio yesterday and she agreed that things were much worse with my shoulder. She did some work on it and praise God, I am once again pain free as far as my shoulder goes. I still have the sore throat but….You may think it strange, but I am SO encouraged by both of these problems. Why? Because it means we are making a dent in the darkness that the enemy has had such ease in keeping over this area of the world. He doesn’t like it, so he’s fighting back in any way he can. My response to this? I am NOT backing down!

I know many of you will be experiencing similar things. Please continue to join me in standing against the darkness in this part of the world. Those of you on the rota and praying for this month, you are doing such an amazing job! All of you are prayer warriors and you will never know how much Noel, Glennis, Pam, Lily, Karen and I plus many, many other people in Ireland appreciate you!

Lets go into week two with the resolve to stand strong and to stand together with one purpose – to bring the freedom of Christ to the West of Ireland.
